Who is responsible

What data we process and why

Legal basis for your request: steps taken at your request before a contract, and then performing it (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). For security and the anonymous statistics, it is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

• Contact form When you fill in the form, we receive your name, your phone number or email address, your postcode and your message. We use these to contact you, schedule the measuring visit and prepare a quote.
• Price calculator As long as you are only calculating a price, no personal data is sent to us. The calculator remembers your last settings and your quote list in your own browser (local storage, not a cookie), so you can continue later; this stays on your device and disappears when you clear your browser’s site data. When you request a quote, we send your contact details together with the configuration of your window (dimensions, layout, colour, glass and options) and the calculated indicative price to the showroom.
• Postcode check If you enter your postcode under “Do we come to you?”, your browser sends only that postcode directly to the PDOK Locatieserver (Kadaster, the Dutch government) to look up its centre point. Your browser calculates the distance to the showroom itself. We do not receive or store the postcode.
• Phone, email and WhatsApp If you call, email or message us, we use your details the same way. WhatsApp messages are also subject to WhatsApp’s own terms.
• Technical data Like any web host, ours receives technical data such as your IP address, to deliver pages and protect the site against misuse. To prevent misuse of the form, we count per IP address and per email address how often something is sent in a short time. These counters are deleted automatically within two days.

Who receives your data

We do not sell your data and do not pass it on to others, unless the law requires us to.

• D-Kozijnen Your request arrives at info@d-kozijnen.nl, at the showroom on Langstraat, where it is handled.
• Netlify (hosting) The website runs on Netlify, which has servers in the European Union and in the United States. Transfers outside the EU are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. A copy of every request sent through the form or the calculator is stored in Netlify Blobs, so nothing is lost if an email does not arrive.
• Brevo (email) The emails sent when you make a request, the notification to the showroom and, if you give an email address, a confirmation to you, go through Brevo, an email service in the European Union.

Statistics without cookies

To see which pages are read, we use Umami. Umami sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses and only shows aggregated figures, such as the number of visits per page. Umami runs on a server of Firmatic, the builder of this website, in the European Union.

We use no Google Analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies, and show no ads, so there is no cookie banner. Fonts load with the website itself, so no request goes to Google Fonts.

How long we keep data

The copy of your request (form or calculator) kept by the website is deleted automatically 24 months after it was received. The email with your request is kept no longer than 24 months after the last contact.

If your request leads to an order, the data becomes part of our accounts. The statutory retention period of seven years then applies.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights. Send your request to info@d-kozijnen.nl; we respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm who you are, so data does not end up with the wrong person.

• Access You can ask which data we hold about you.
• Correction If your data is wrong, we correct it.
• Erasure You can ask us to delete your data, unless we are legally required to keep it.
• Objection You can object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
• Portability You can receive your data in a common format, so you can pass it on to someone else.

Making a complaint

Not happy with how we handle your data? Please tell us first. You always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Dutch data protection authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

Security, links and changes

The website uses a secure connection (https). If you click a link to another website, such as d-kozijnen.nl, WhatsApp or a route planner, that website’s own privacy policy applies.

If anything changes on the website or in the services we use, we update this statement.
